ISE 2023. VP Broadcasted live show

Powered by Invidis, Absen and Mediapro, “Content Studio by GRUP MEDIAPRO” is a new live show made entirely with Virtual Production technology based on LED wall + virtual RT set extension. It was done live for the ISE (Integrated Systems Europe) 2023 fair, the largest in the world in its sector. The program was recorded on each of the 4 days of the event and consisted of a set of interviews, keynotes and showrooms about the production and distribution of audiovisual content. Senior representatives from entities such as Google, America's Cup, Philips, Epic Games and Sony were part of these panels. My job consisted of the creative direction of the event for which I created a concept of a spaceship to which the guests are teleported. The event takes place every year at the Fira exhibition center in Barcelona.

Highlights

Content Studio

The show had the same scheme, an introductory opening with our spaceship crossing a suggestive galaxy, the camera entering the ship and showing the interior. In it, Florian Rotberg, president of the Digital Signage Summit and CEO of Invidis, was in charge of interviewing a relevant member of the sector, who was teleported to the occasion.

Live Show

With a total of 46 interviews, the program was distributed with six different blocks that structured the contents: Hola Barcelona, Dave's Daily, Virtual Production, TechTalk, Invidis insights & Engaging Experiences. For 4 intense days, we were able to hear the opinions of experts with very interesting debates such as: Unreal for Virtual Production, VR + AR, Drones, Vertical Production (Tik Tok), Green Signage on productions, the gaming industry or new trends with AI for the audiovisual sector.

Tech Spec

Virtual production with a 9x3m LED screen located on self-built set. When the camera exceeds the LED space, we implement a virtual set extension to achieve a perfectly integrated space. EZtrack's tracked cameras, together with wTVision's live broadcast system for Unreal, allowed us to create a layered spaceship that included foreground plans, RT curved 3D lettering, interactive holographies and external video signal integrated in RT.

Announcement

Content Studio was also an occasion for a big announcement: Taxto Benet (managing partner at Grup Mediapro) announced an investment of 3.5M € for the new Mediapro Barcelona Virtual Production set. It will open in 2024 and will have 235m² LED screens as well as a greenscreen area in a 500m² space located at the headquarters on the Diagonal avenue. It will be followed by several more VP sets worldwide.

ISE

Exhibition

With 58K visitors and more than 1K exhibitors it is the world’s leading AV and systems integration exhibition. ISE 2023 showcases the technology innovators and solutions providers, and includes four days of inspiring conferences, events and experiences. In addition, ISE hosts numerous pre-show and at-show conferences as well as showcasing keynote speeches, arranging off-site tech tours and facilitating numerous networking opportunities. Content Zone

The program was created to give visibility to the new ISE area dedicated to Content Production and Distribution. The Content Zone in Hall 4 is where ISE has brought together solutions covering content acquisition, editing, management, storage and distribution - including cameras, camera tracking equipment, switchers, monitors, virtual sets, video networking solutions, intercoms and audio consoles. In this zone is where we have installed our dedicated stage area.

Processes.

The wTVision team together with that of Videorepport and Adisar, companies of the Mediapro Group, managed to assemble the screen and the complete communication circuit in record time. To create this Virtual Production set with live broadcast, it was necessary to generate latency-free connectivity between the different content sources: multicam output, external material input for presentations, 3D environments by foreground/background layers, credits in real time, etc. EZTrack were responsible for the camera tracking system.

Talent

Here there is the complete list of the 46 “teleported professionals” who come into our spaceship to be interviewed. 16 from them were from the Mediapro Group. As always, the most interesting thing about the event has been being able to learn the points of view of prominent international professionals and to exchange ideas with them.
